November is National Gratitude Month

When someone expresses gratitude to you, how does it feel? What about when you express gratitude to someone else? Gratitude is one of those wonderful mutual experiences where not only does it feel great to have someone express to you, but it can feel equally as fulfilling to express gratitude to ourselves.

November is National Gratitude Month and a great opportunity to be intentional with the who, what, when, where and why of our gratitude. As individuals engaging in a human experience called life, it's so easy to miss out on opportunities to show gratitude to others, but even more so  to ourselves. Think about it. When was the last time you expressed gratitude to your body for continuing to function and keep you alive. How about the last time felt grateful that the sun was shining or the rain was falling? Gratitude can be expressed at any moment of the day which can bring our awareness to the present - we call this mindfulness.

Whether you believe in God, a higher power, the Universe, or nothing at all, expressing gratitude can be powerful. Expressing gratitude for life, health, healing, resilience, love, joy can change a monotonous moment to a meaningful one.

For the month of November, please join me in a Gratitude Challenge! Here are some ways you can participate

- Write in gratitude journal.

- Call a friend and share why you're grateful for them.

- Take a mindful nature walk and be fully present and aware of your environment.

- Meditate

There are tons of ways that you can practice gratitude and I hope you mindfully enjoy the moments you will experience.
